How liquid is my investment in startups?

1 Answer(s)

Startup investments are highly illiquid. Your investment capital is entirely inaccessible until there is a payout event.  There is also a high probability that a startup could go out of business, at which point you lose your investment in part or in its entirety.  This investment class is illiquid because investors have almost no control over when (or if) they may recover their investment or any returns.
